1. How long does it take to get my finished YesDVD?
It varies per retail store. Normally, please allow up to 21 days. It can often be much shorter.

2. What are the special features of YesDVDs?

  • DVD Menus screens with 54 automatic intelligently-selected Chapters
  • Bonus feature: Three 60-second Music Video highlights from the footage
  • Custom DVD case coversheet containing colour pictures that represent each Chapter
  • Personalised DVD title on the Disc label, case coversheet and main menu screen
  • Digital Scrapbook™ multimedia software can be added to all DVD transfers

3. Do the Music Video Highlights interfere with my original soundtrack?
Not at all. They are a separately accessed feature, completely apart from your original content.

4. What restrictions are there?
Copyrighted videos can only be transferred with the written permission of the copyright holder. Please Click here for the Copyright Waiver and Declaration form. We also cannot transfer: illegal content, Copy-protected video tapes, or damaged media.

5. Can I start my transfer from a specific place on my tape or film
Film - no. Tape - yes. Please wind the tape to the position you want it to start, and note clearly on the tape and the Order form; 'NO REWIND. TAPE PARKED, CAPTURE FROM HERE'. In all cases only the first 2 hours of your tape footage will be transferred to YesDVD.

6. Can you transfer SECAM and NTSC tapes to YesDVD?
Yes. Please mark the tape with which format it is recorded in. We will transfer to the same format.

7. Will my original media be returned to me? Yes, all of your media and containers will be returned to you. Cine film may be spliced onto a larger reel for cleaning and transfer and will be returned on the large reel(s) along with your smaller reels and canisters.

8. What are the maximum amounts of my media that can be transferred to one DVD?
2 hours of Videotape from one videocassette, or 1,600 feet of 8mm/Super 8 cine film, or 3,200 feet of 16mm cine film.

9. What is Digital Scrapbook™?
This is our patented multimedia Software that can be added to any YesDVD order. Using your Windows™ PC, you are then able to:

  • Make still images (photos) from your video footage. Crop and rotate your images & remove red-eye
  • Import and add more images from the computer
  • Print images and/or email them directly to friends and family
  • Create new Multimedia Storyboards containing your favourite video clips and photos, add transitions, music and title screens, save them and/or email these to family and friends.
Adding Digital Scrapbook doesn't in any way prevent you from viewing your movie as normal.

10. Will my YesDVD work in all DVD Players?
YesDVD has been through extensive testing and works perfectly with the vast majority of DVD players. For computer viewing, you will need a Pentium II PC, 266MHz or higher with Windows 98/Me/NT/2000 or higher, or a Mac running OS 9.0.4 or higher. Your computer must be equipped with a DVD drive.

11. What is our Quality Policy?
The quality of our YesDVD products is excellent. Please note however that the YesDVD service is a transfer service, and the quality of the original media will not normally be enhanced. Therefore the quality of your YesDVD depends very much on the quality of the original media (you will get notification of any quality issues we encounter). A variable bit rate is used to ensure the highest quality, with an average rate of 4.1mbps.

12. Some technical information
Our YesDVD discs are DVD-R, PAL format, Region 0 (playable in regions 1-6), containing standard DVD-V content (Mpeg 2 variable encoding at an average of 4.1 mbps), Stereo Dolby AC-3 encoded sound.
